Ardbeg Supernova SN2015 Committee Release Islay Alleinstehender Malt Scotch Whisky 54,3% – limitierte Abfüllung und Final Relase eines besonderen Ardbeg. Im Jahr 2011 sendete die schottische Whisky Destillerie erstmals für ein Forschungsprojekt Proben mit Eichenholzpartikeln zur Reifung auf die Internationale Raumstation ISS. Zur Feier der derzeitig vorliegenden wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse präsentiert Ardbeg die fünfte und finale Druckerzeugnis des legendären Ardbeg Supernova, ein goldener Alleinstehender Malt, der handkehrum irdisch reifte. Statt dem für Ardbeg üblichen verwendeten Malz mit einem Phenolgehalt von 55ppm (Millionstel Rabatt) setzte die auf der schottischen Insel Islay beheimate Destillerie ein torfgeräuchertes Malz mit galaktischen 100ppm ein. Das Finitum ist ein außergewöhnlicher und besonderer Islay Alleinstehender Malt Whisky: In der Nase ein pfeffriges Aroma mit würzigen Kräutern, gefolgt von geräucherten Früchten, Seetang und Fenchel. Im Geschmack eine Sternenexplosion von Gewürzen, gesalzenem Karamell und Rauch, gemischt mit medizinischer Noten, schwarzem Teer und Chillischärfe. Der Nachklang ist extrem lang und pfeffrig. The 2015 committee release of Ardbeg Supernova. The first edition was the peatiest Ardbeg ever and this new release treads the same path. A big whack of smoke with a terrific backbone of fruit and sweetness. To celebrate the conclusion of Ardbeg’s experiment in space, they released this final Committee release of the super-peated Supernova single malt. Unfortunately, due to the limited nature of Ardbeg Supernova it was only available for Ardbeg Committee members in the US, UK, Sweden, Germany, France, Taiwan, Japan and Australia. At 100PPM (phenolic content measured in parts per million) compared to Ardbeg’s usual 55PPM – made from a selection of the smokiest casks in its warehouses, this is one of the most heavily-peated whiskies in the world!
